centers-for-successful-agingChristian Living Communities earlier this month became the only multi-community organization in the country to have all of its communities recognized as Certified Centers for Successful Aging. The designation, founded by Masterpiece Living, acknowledges forward-thinking, cutting-edge leaders in the aging field who are actively committed to furthering the successful aging movement.

Such centers have set themselves apart from all others by implementing the best successful aging practices that benefit both their residents and team members and promote resilience, according to Masterpiece Living.

“It’s not uncommon for organizations to claim they are focused on successful aging. But to have been scrutinized and validated provides a level of credibility,” said Christian Living Communities President Cindy Hogan. “We are proud to be the only multi-site organization in the country where each of our communities has achieved this distinction.”

Last year, Holly Creek Retirement Community earned the designation, and then this month both Clermont Park and Someren Glen achieved the status. Nationwide, there are only 11 such communities, and CLC has three of those 11.

  • The certification, which requires an extensive application process, measures elements across all levels of living within an organization including:
  • Successful aging culture, as reflected through empowering language and visible commitment to successful aging
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Community outreach
  • Active coaching
  • Purposeful programming
  • Staff-to-resident engagement
