Dear Residents, Associates, Families and Friends,
Happy Thanksgiving! There is so much at Christian Living Communities to be thankful for…deep friendships, loving care, the tremendous support of faithful friends and an inspirational call to serve others.
The Christian Living Communities Board of Directors and Executive Leadership have spent the last year focusing on how to convey all that we hold dear and aspire ourselves to be into a clear and concise phrase—a vision statement for the organization. You see, we’ve always had a strong mission stating how we do things and we have a clear set of values to guide our interactions, but having that one simple sentence to help cast a vision has been missing.
We began our work in February at a board retreat and followed up with a workgroup that met for several months. A proposed vision statement was shared and adopted by our Board of Directors in October and I am thrilled to share it with you during this time of thanksgiving.
Creating communities where aging is honored and celebrated.
I hope you love it as much as I do.
Creating communities – Since our inception, creativity and purpose have pulsed through this organization as we’ve built communities, literally and figuratively, through the buildings we own and manage and through the services we provide.
Where aging is honored and celebrated – Who wouldn’t want to take part in this? Our vision is to help create better worlds for older adults, and this statement takes it one step further to assert that the environments collaboratively created will be places of celebration and of great respect.
I am thankful for the heartfelt work that went into creating something so clear and meaningful—choosing just a few words for such a promise-filled organization is a tough assignment. And I am thankful that Christian Living Communities is the type of organization that is difficult to encapsulate into one sentence as we are simply bursting with amazingly good work and with equally amazing people.
Yes, I have a lot to be thankful for this season and being part of Christian Living Communities is one of those things. I hope it is for you as well.
Warmest wishes for a joyous season of thanksgiving for you and yours,
