More than 70 residents, donors, board members, team members, and friends of Christian Living Communities gathered on July 8 at Holly Creek Life Plan Community to celebrate the life-changing impact of the CLC Employee Scholarship Fund.
Guests heard firsthand from scholarship recipients whose education has strengthened their confidence, advanced their careers, and transformed their lives. One message stood above all the others.
They said yes.
They said yes to continuing their education while balancing work, family, and life's responsibilities. That yes took courage, determination, and sacrifice.
Enid’s story captured that message perfectly. "I want to do it so my child has a different life." Those were the words Enid shared during her scholarship interview.
Enid was born in Uganda and lost both of her parents at a young age. She grew up dreaming of opportunities she believed she would only be able to find in America.
"If I ever cross over, I will make it happen, regardless of my age," she promised herself.
That determination led her to America and to Christian Living Communities, where she joined Rhythms Home Care as a Personal Care Assistant. She earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification but knew she wanted to continue growing.
"I can do better," she said.
With support from the CLC Employee Scholarship Fund, Enid earned her Licensed Practical Nurse credential while balancing work, school, and family. She graduated in April 2026 and has recently accepted a position on the nursing team at Clermont Park.
Enid is grateful for all of the incredible supporters who have generously given to support the Scholarship Fund. “This support has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders and has given me the chance to focus fully on my studies and future aspirations,” she explained. “Your kindness doesn't just help financially - it reminds me that there are people who believe in my potential. Thank you for making such a meaningful impact on my life.”
Her story is inspiring, but Enid’s desire to make a better life for herself and her family is far from unique. Since 2019, the Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $299,000 to 132 team members pursuing nursing degrees, certifications, leadership training, administrator licenses, and other educational opportunities.
Even more encouraging, 84% of scholarship recipients since 2022 remain employed at CLC, strengthening our workforce and the care we provide. This year alone, five scholarships totaling $11,800 have already helped team members pursue clinical and leadership credentials.
"Through the amazing generosity of our CLC donors and the scholarship program, many Rhythms employees have been able to earn their CNA and LPN licenses," said Mansour Gazawi, Executive Director of Rhythms Home Care. "This is yet another way that CLC stays true to its mission and values. Our employees have a tremendous opportunity for educational assistance, not only to help them achieve their dreams, but to do so while they serve with honor and respect."
Because generous donors said yes to investing in our team members, Enid was able to say yes to her future. Today, CLC residents benefit from the care of a skilled, confident nurse, and her children are growing up watching a mother who refused to let her circumstances define her future.
Will you say yes, too?
