CLC Board of Directors Transitions
Each year, Christian Living Communities (CLC) hosts a special gathering of our volunteer Board of Directors, senior leadership team, and their spouses/partners—a time to celebrate the achievements of the organization, honor the thoughtful guidance provided by our Board, and acknowledge the collective commitment that keeps our mission vibrant. This year’s celebration was filled with gratitude, shared accomplishments, and anticipation for the future.
The annual event also provides a meaningful moment to say thank you to outgoing Board members whose terms have come to a close, and to welcome the new leaders joining this vital governing body.
Service Awards given to Dave, Lucy, Christine and Tom, all of whom we will miss dearly.
Honoring Four Remarkable Outgoing Board Members
At the dinner, we recognized the dedicated service of Dave Dookeeram, leaving as Board Chair, Christine Powers who led our Governance Committee, Lucy Drayer and Tom Rogers who faithfully and thoughtfully served on our Culture and Mission committee. Each joined the Board in 2020—during a pivotal CEO transition—and soon found themselves helping navigate the profound challenges of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Through those extraordinary circumstances, these leaders provided steady governance, wise counsel, and steadfast commitment to CLC’s mission and values. Their oversight helped ensure the safety of residents and associates, maintain organizational stability, and support the recovery that has allowed CLC not only to rebound but to thrive once again. We are deeply grateful for their service and the lasting impact of their leadership.

Welcoming Three New Board Members
As we express our thanks to those completing their terms, we are equally delighted to welcome Elizabeth Garner who served as Colorado’s State Demographer for more than 20 years, Amanda Trask, an accomplished healthcare strategist, and Lon Welsh with a wealth of experience in Private Equity and real estate to the CLC Board of Directors. Each brings valuable experience, perspective, and passion to our accomplished and diverse board of directors.
A Board Committed to Mission and Excellence
The Christian Living Communities Board of Directors plays a crucial role in the governance of the organization. The Board Governance Committee reviews open positions each year, evaluates the skills present at the Board level, and identifies the expertise needed to ensure ongoing excellence. Board members serve at the parent level of CLC and are the keepers of the organization’s vision, mission, and values. They are expected to lead with insight, collaboration, capable empowerment, and a commitment to organizational success—whether measured financially, culturally, or by our impact in the senior living field.
Their responsibilities are central to CLC’s continued strength: approving key policies and decisions, setting strategic direction, delegating and overseeing work, and ensuring that decisions are carried out as intended. It’s sacred work that was started in the late 60’s by a dedicated group of volunteers focused on providing care and services for anyone in need. Our founding story is a powerful one.
With Gratitude and Hope
To our outgoing members: thank you for your remarkable service during one of the most defining eras in CLC’s history.
To our new members: welcome—we look forward to the vision and energy you bring.
To all who gathered at this year’s celebration: thank you for the dedication, partnership, and shared purpose that makes our mission possible.
Together, we move forward with confidence and faith in the future of Christian Living Communities.
