This week, care partners at Dayspring Villa Assisted Living will celebrate the grand opening of their remodeled breakroom, thanks to the generosity of amazing changemakers like you!

The team member breakroom had not been updated for many years, and it was looking the worse for wear. Scratched floors, dinged walls, mismatched décor, and a cramped set-up left it a less-than-desirable place for team members to eat lunch or take a break. Team member morale was suffering, and it was reflected in the community’s high levels of care partner turnover.

The leadership team at Dayspring Villa and Christian Living Communities saw an opportunity to Re-Imagine the Workplace, one of the four cornerstones of CLC’s strategic plan. Engagement and retention of caring and talented team members is a priority across the organization. They hoped to create a beautiful and comfortable breakroom that would allow team members to feel good about their workplace.

The proposed remodel was able to go forward, thanks entirely to caring mission supporters like you! Your generous gifts made it possible to renovate the breakroom from the ground up. New flooring and paint instantly brightened the room. New cabinetry and a slimmer-fit refrigerator and lockers have freed up more space for team members to enjoy. Beautiful new furniture and décor will be the crowning touches, creating a cheerful and inviting space for a break.

Ryan Ludke, the Executive Director of Dayspring Villa, is excited for the morale-boosting potential of the remodeled space. “Overall, a thoughtfully designed breakroom can significantly enhance the work environment by making it more enjoyable and accommodating for everyone,” he observes. “I believe team members will greatly appreciate a space that prioritizes comfort, convenience, and enjoyment, especially given their dedication and hard working providing exceptional care to the residents of Dayspring Villa.”

Funding for the project came from both the General Mission Fund and the Workforce Innovation Fund. Gifts to the General Mission Fund help meet the organization’s greatest current needs. The Workforce Innovation Fund was created to strengthen CLC’s mission by providing opportunities to recruit and retain the best team members.

Gifts to the Workforce Innovation Fund from caring supporters like you provide opportunities for innovative approaches, including increased training, recognition, and appreciation efforts. Warm and supportive relationships between team members and residents are at the heart of CLC’s caring, vibrant culture. Initiatives that focus on finding, keeping, and growing team members build even warmer and more welcoming communities that benefit team members, residents, and families alike.

“I think it makes a difference for the team to have a comfortable and nice breakroom so they feel like they are able to relax,” says Sarina Vialpando, Dayspring’s Health and Wellness Coordinator. “I think they will feel like they are being cared for, too!”

The community is excited to unveil the beautiful and redesigned space that you made possible this week alongside their 3rd Annual Resident Art Show. They invite members of the CLC community to come tour the remodeled breakroom this Friday, September 13th from 1 to 3 pm. The event will be hosted in the Dayspring Villa dining room (3777 W 26th Ave, Denver, CO 80211).

Attendees can check out the updated space and then enjoy appetizers while viewing unique, resident-made art. All the art pieces are available for purchase and were donated by residents to raise funds to update their community gardens. What a blessing it is to have faithful, caring, change-making supporters like you! Thank you for keeping our mission as close to your heart as we do to ours.
