Supporting Community, Creativity, and Well-Being Through an IRA Gift

For many supporters, giving is about more than meeting a financial requirement. It’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. A gift from your IRA offers a powerful way to do both.

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals age 70½ or older to make a tax-free gift directly from their IRA to a qualified nonprofit—like Christian Living Communities. Once you reach age 73, a QCD can also count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), making it one of the most strategic and impactful ways to support older adults today.

Why Consider an IRA Gift?

Giving through a QCD offers distinct advantages. Your gift is excluded from taxable income. If you are aged 73 or older, it can satisfy all or part of your annual RMD. And even if you take the standard deduction, you still receive meaningful tax benefits.

Just as importantly, IRA gifts can strengthen programs that foster engagement, connection, and quality of life across our communities.

IRA gifts are more than a tax-smart strategy. They are an investment in belonging, creativity, and well-being—helping residents continue to learn, connect, and thrive.

A Gift of Sound and Spirit

Music has a remarkable ability to stir memory, spark joy, and bring people together—often in ways words cannot.

Holly Creek cottager series concert

At Holly Creek, the Cottager Music Series brings live performances into the heart of the community. Created by residents, for residents, this monthly series is planned and hosted by a dedicated group of neighbors who invite talented musicians to share their gifts. These intimate concerts do more than entertain; they reduce isolation, spark conversation, and create moments of shared delight that linger long after the final note.

At Clermont Park, residents and team members spend months rehearsing for the annual music and theatre production. This is a beloved tradition that celebrates creativity, collaboration, and confidence. This year’s production of Mary Poppins was a joyful, community-wide experience. Support from generous donors—including those who gave through their IRAs—helped fund sets, costumes, and production elements, ensuring this cherished tradition continues to soar.

The Holly Creek Chorale offers another beautiful example. Born from a shared love of music, Chorale continues to grow and inspire. Through harmony and shared purpose, participants experience strengthened cognitive health, emotional well-being, and meaningful social connection. Donor support. including IRA gifts, helps sustain this program for years to come.
