Have you ever dreamed of making a meaningful difference in the lives of others? Do you have a passion for gardening, music, or art? Imagine turning that dream into reality by supporting older adults through a gift from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA).
At Christian Living Communities, residents, families, and friends have made incredible enhancements to our communities through Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from their IRAs. These tax-efficient gifts allow donors to directly impact residents’ lives while also receiving significant tax benefits.
For example, at Clermont Park, QCD gifts have provided support for the annual Showstoppers musical production, a beloved tradition, and for the beautiful Community Gardens to flourish year after year. As one Clermont Park resident proudly put it, “Why wouldn’t I give? This is my home. We take care of each other.”
One of their neighbors added, “I choose to make gifts through my IRA because it’s a simple way to give back while also making a lasting impact. Knowing that my contributions help bring joy and enrich the lives of residents at CLC makes it incredibly rewarding. It’s a privilege to support programs that make this community feel more like home for everyone.”
By making a QCD, you can join these inspiring efforts. You’ll not only avoid taxes on your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), but also provide immediate support to enhance programs that make our communities vibrant places to live.
Ready to Make an Impact through a QCD?
If you are 72 or older, consider making a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA to Christian Living Communities. It’s a simple yet powerful way to create lasting change.
Why Choose a QCD?
- Tax Benefits: Avoid paying income tax on your RMD, reducing your taxable income.
- Immediate Impact: Your donation will directly support vital programs and services that create purpose and joy for older adults and the team members who support them.
- Simple Process: Instruct your IRA custodian to make the distribution directly to our organization.
How Can You Make a Difference?
Christian Living Communities (CLC) offers several impactful funds that donors can support through a QCD donation, each playing a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents and team members:
- Chaplain Fund: This funding ensures that chaplains will be able to provide compassionate care, guidance, and spiritual support to our residents both now and into the future. Gifts made to Chaplain Services have allowed us to update the hymn books used for Sunday Services, enhancing our worship experience. We’ve also expanded chaplain support at Dayspring Villa to eight hours each week, allowing more residents access to this vital resource. Our hope is to provide more hours of support in the future.
- Critical Needs Funds: In 2024, CLC has distributed over $23,000 in Critical Needs funding to support 33 team members facing unexpected financial challenges. These funds have provided essential assistance with expenses like car repairs, rent, and medical bills, helping team members stay resilient in the face of rising living costs. We are deeply grateful for your generous gifts which make this program possible, offering crucial support to those who support our residents every day.
- Employee Scholarship Fund: Empowers our dedicated team members to pursue further education and professional development, fostering growth and resilience within our team. This year alone, CLC has awarded 15 scholarships valued at over $42,000 to team members pursuing additional degrees and certifications.
By contributing to these funds, donors make a lasting impact, supporting a thriving, compassionate community that continually strives for excellence.
