Well-being is the path to a life worth living. It is what we all desire. It is the ultimate outcome of a human life.”

– The Eden Alternative

Well-being is so much more than a trendy buzzword. At Christian Living Communities, well-being is an impactful way we think about what each person needs, as an individual, to flourish and experience a life worth living.

Focusing on well-being is an important part of how we fulfill our mission to enrich the quality and dignity of life for older adults and team members. It’s a big deal!

One of the tools we use to evaluate is the Eden Alternative Domains of Well-Being®. We all need these seven essential components to create lives worth living: Identity, Growth, Security, Autonomy, Connectedness, Meaning, and Joy.

During this month of gratitude, we want to give thanks to some amazing, caring individuals who play a significant role in creating well-being at each of our communities: you!

Did you know that supporters like you are an influential part of helping us create well-being for older adults and team members alike? You are!

Your caring gifts supported older adults and compassionate team members across every domain of well-being this year.

Blessings you made possible in 2025

Identity

  • veterans day dinner at clermont parkAt Clermont Park, residents who served in the Armed Forces enjoyed a special Veteran’s Day dinner with their spouses and received a Clermont Park challenge coin to recognize their service.
  • The Holly Creek Cottager Music Series, funded entirely by donations, allows the music-loving older adults who live at Holly Creek to fill their community with song.
  • General Mission gifts helped Dayspring Villa buy branded jackets for all their team members, increasing community pride and morale.

Growth

  • eden alternative training at cappella of pueblo westMore than 50 CLC team members, residents, and board members participated in three-day Certified Eden Alternative trainings to grow their knowledge and practice of the principles of person-directed care.
  • Donor gifts made it possible for Clermont Park to purchase reusable takeout containers and bags for the dining room, helping the Sustainability Committee advance the community’s journey towards environmental sustainability.

Security

  • A resident with limited financial means at Clermont Park got assistance to purchase a specialized wheelchair that their insurance wouldn’t cover. Another resident at Clermont Park received financial support to pay for repairs to their existing wheelchair that they couldn’t afford on their own.
  • Cappella of Pueblo West was able to replace the torn carpet in their Grand Lounge, their community’s biggest life enrichment space. The brand new flooring looks great and allows residents to attend community events safely and without fear of tripping.
  • You helped Clermont Park restock their Clermont Park Cupboard, an anonymous program that provides food for low-income residents facing food insecurity.

Autonomy

  • dayspring villa mens groupYou made it possible for the Dayspring Villa Men’s Group to get new tools, mulch, and other landscaping supplies. These resident volunteers were able to spend months caring for the community lawns and gardens.
  • Someren Glen was able to purchase a new scroll saw for their resident woodshop, making it possible for older adults with a passion for woodwork to complete the kinds of projects they love most.

Connectedness

  • ellie's little farm holly creekA visit from Ellie’s Little Farm allowed Holly Creek residents and team members to connect with, pet, and feed a variety of adorable farm animals, including bunnies, chicks, goats, and baby sheep.
  • Thanks to an incredibly caring legacy gift, Someren Glen was able to purchase a new Yamaha piano. The beautiful new piano has created wonderful moments of community connectedness, including sing-alongs and live music for spiritual services.
  • Monthly indoor gardening events, supported by donor gifts, allow residents at The Suites at Someren Glen to connect with and nurture a variety of beautiful indoor plants.

Meaning

  • Thanks to supporters like you, Clermont Park’s Assisted Living neighborhood is able to bring in monthly poetry classes that allow residents to explore the power of poetry to create and reflect meaning.
  • The Holly Creek Bell Choir is a source of inspiration for their community. The beautiful sound of the bells enriches life at Holly Creek for all who experience it. This year, donor gifts made it possible for the bell choir to have their bells professionally cleaned, tuned, and fitted with new handles for the first time since 2018, preserving their exquisite sound.
  • Gifts to the Chaplain Fund made it possible for Dayspring Villa to have a chaplain to support spiritual programming and pastoral care at their community.

Joy

  • holly creek wagon rideResidents at Clermont Park and Holly Creek experienced the joy of a horse-drawn wagon ride. The accessible wagon with a ramp made it easy for residents at all levels of community living to participate, including those who rely on a walker or wheelchair for mobility.
  • Residents at The Suites at Holly Creek got to participate in the joy of carefully incubating, hatching, and caring for baby chicks through a five-week Rent the Chicken program.

These are only some of the many, many blessings that supporters like you made possible in 2025. Ultimately, they add up to an incredible outcome: well-being for older adults who call a CLC community home and the compassionate team members who partner with them in care.

Thank you for being someone who cares. Thank you for supporting our mission. You are a blessing!
