What are Skilled Nursing Communities?
At skilled nursing communities, older adults receive long-term, 24-hour nursing care from licensed practical and registered nurses. This type of care consists of around-the-clock treatment for those recovering from an injury or ongoing health conditions.
The experienced, tenured teams at CLC’s skilled nursing communities create customized care plans tailored to each resident, with physical, occupational, and speech therapy also available. When paired with meaningful opportunities for connection and to “be well-known,” this care honors the whole person and celebrates new possibilities.

The Eden Alternative Approach to Skilled Nursing Care
Our skilled nursing communities follow the Eden Alternative’s approach to care, which emphasizes that no matter our age or abilities, life is about continuing to grow. Two CLC communities are Eden Alternative Certified Members and numerous team members across the organization are Certified Eden Alternative Associates and/or Educators. Our affiliation with Eden Alternative keeps us focused on encouraging residents to enhance their well-being by eliminating loneliness, helplessness, and boredom.
Highly Rated Skilled Nursing Care
Many of CLC’s skilled nursing communities have been recognized by national organizations for quality care, customer satisfaction, high staffing ratios, and better outcomes. Awards include Pinnacle Quality Insight’s Customer Experience Award, Telligen’s COVID-19 Vigilance Award, U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes award, and excellent ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in Staffing, RN Staffing, Quality Measures, and Overall Quality. Our skilled care teams are focused on optimal outcomes for each resident, based on their personal goals and priorities.
Skilled Nursing Amenities & Services
CLC’s skilled nursing communities offer both private and shared apartments to accommodate residents’ needs, while a suite of amenities and services encourage active, meaningful living. Three nutritious, chef-prepared meals are served daily, and residents enjoy beautiful, shared community spaces, engaging programs, and convenient access to a full continuum of therapy services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
Skilled Nursing vs. Assisted Living
Skilled nursing communities offer around-the-clock nursing care, wound care, medical monitoring, and other support that must be administered by a licensed practical or registered nurse. Assisted living communities provide customized support with day-to-day activities, such as eating, eating, medication reminders, and personal hygiene. If you would benefit from support with daily living, but don’t require the high-level care of skilled nursing, an assisted living community may be a good fit for you.
